Welcome to the Blog: Unfiltered Thoughts
So, I finally started a blog.
After three years of building my YouTube channel, creating videos, answering questions, and connecting with so many of you online, it’s safe to say… I have some thoughts. A lot of them, actually. And not all of them fit neatly into a 12-minute video or a social media caption. Some things just need more room to breathe (and vent).
Hence: the blog.
This space is where I’ll be sharing the good, the bad, the awkward, and the absolutely ridiculous things I’ve observed—and experienced—while working as a PA and building a business around it. If you're new here, hi. I'm Michele, a practicing Physician Associate (yes, I said Associate, we’ll talk about that later), an educator, a solo creator, and a slightly jaded optimist trying to survive and maybe even improve this hot mess we call healthcare.
What This Blog Is
This is where I’ll dive into the stuff that doesn’t always make it into polite CME conference chatter or glossy brochure copy.
I’m talking:
What career moves actually make sense—and which ones will leave you weeping into your badge lanyard
Creative ways to pivot or evolve in this career when you feel stuck (or over it)
Where I went wrong in my own career path, and what I’d do differently if I could go back
Pitfalls I see so many smart clinicians falling into (and how to avoid them)
How to think beyond the clinic and carve out the life you actually want
The real deal with CME conferences (spoiler: not all of them are worth your PTO)
What I really think about insurance companies—and how they’re slowly choking the soul out of medicine
The dumpster fire that is modern U.S. healthcare
The infighting between healthcare professionals that gets us absolutely nowhere
And why being a healthcare entrepreneur might be the sanest insane thing I’ve ever done
So yeah. Light reading.
What This Blog Isn’t
This is not a peer-reviewed journal. I’m not here to play politics, sugarcoat anything, or pretend that I have all the answers. I’m just one PA with a master's degree, some battle scars, and a compulsion to help others avoid at least some of the mistakes I made.
I’ll give you my honest take, backed by experience and plenty of caffeine. I’ll challenge you to think differently about your role, your options, and your value. And I’ll probably make a few sarcastic jokes along the way—because if we’re not laughing, we’re crying, right?
Why Now?
Because healthcare is changing fast. And not always for the better. The pressure is mounting, the burnout is real, and the margin for error (financially, emotionally, ethically) feels razor thin.
But here’s the thing: I believe PAs and NPs are uniquely positioned to lead some of the change that desperately needs to happen. We’re flexible. We’re innovative. We adapt. We learn fast and we do a lot with very little support. And it’s about time we started owning that more publicly—and pushing back on the systems that try to keep us small.
This blog is one more way I plan to do that.
What You Can Expect
New posts will drop regularly(ish). I’ll be covering a wide range of topics—some practical, some philosophical, some just pure venting with purpose. And if you ever find yourself nodding along, laughing, or getting mad in a “hell yes, someone finally said it” kind of way, then I’m doing my job.
If you’re here for fresh ideas, validation, motivation, and maybe the occasional kick in the pants, welcome. You’re in the right place.
Thanks for reading. Now let’s get into it.
